The Department of Biology in the College of Science and Mathematics at California State University, Fresno currently has two tenure-track, academic year positions Assistant Professor in Microbiology. Our faculty teach undergraduate and graduate master’s students, conduct research, pursue external funding, and engage in service-related activities.
The successful Microbiology candidate should be trained in microbiology and related disciplines and preferably will possess expertise in medically relevant microbiological topics. Candidates with research programs that use microorganisms (bacteria or eukaryotic microorganisms) to address key questions in a current area of microbiology, e.g., mechanisms underlying the microbial basis of human diseases, are encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to develop a research program that involves training both undergraduate and graduate students. The specific teaching assignments will depend on the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs but will include General Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
|Required Education is doctorate / Ph.D in Microbiology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.|

2. Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
